Facts & Figures

I’m bit of a data nerd. I have a spreadsheet that logs each time I’ve been go-karting. How much it cost me, how many laps I completed, the (timed) distance travelled, and my fastest lap of that visit!

Be sure to check out the Track History page to find out how fast I’ve driven at each track!

2022 – Year One.

I visited 3 TeamSport tracks in 2022, with a total of 21 different visits. Of those 3 tracks, I drove on 4 different layouts.

TeamSport Sheffield, I drove on the Le Mans layout once (2 sessions) and the full International layout 18 times – 7 on the old softer tyres and 11 on the newer harder compound tyres.

The other two tracks were TeamSport Stoke and TeamSport Nottingham.

I didn’t calculate the distance travelled in this year.

In total, all of my visits cost me £512.05, plus my #Grid Club membership cost of £24.99. A total of £537.04.

My total income from being a “YouTuber” was £0.

2023 – Year Two.

I visited a total of 11 tracks in 2023, only 2 of those were outdoor tracks. I made a total of 54 visits to a track!

For TeamSport Sheffield, I have only driven on the full International layout, but I’ve also visited TeamSport Coventry, Whilton Mill (International Layout), Parkwood Karting (Sheffield), TeamSport Reading (pre-electrification), TeamSport Preston, TeamSport Warrington (pre-electrification), TeamSport Leeds, TeamSport Stoke, TeamSport Gosport, TeamSport Eastleigh (Southampton) and TeamSport Crawley!

The approximate total distance driven, calculated using the published track length multiplied by the number of timed laps, at each track is as follows

  • TeamSport Sheffield: 1,353.75KM / 841.18 mi
  • TeamSport Coventry: 133.5KM / 82.95 mi
  • Whilton Mill: 87.6KM / 54.43 mi
  • Parkwood Karting: 32.9KM / 20.44 mi
  • TeamSport Reading: 35.1KM / 21.81 mi
  • TeamSport Preston: 16KM / 9.94 mi
  • TeamSport Warrington: 36KM / 22.37 mi
  • TeamSport Leeds: 18.56KM / 11.53 mi
  • TeamSport Stoke: 39.5KM / 24.54 mi
  • TeamSport Gosport: 29.7KM / 18.45 mi
  • TeamSport Eastleigh: 34KM / 21.13 mi
  • TeamSport Crawley: 15KM / 9.32 mi

That is a total of 1,831.61 KM / 1,138.11 miles!

So what did that cost me? Some sessions were free, by using loyalty points and my birthday session. Whilton Mill was individually the most expensive at £60 for 2x 20 minute sessions (the second visit was booked using a Black Friday discount code. Despite the price increase, it only cost £45.50).
BIKC Regional entry at TeamSport Coventry also cost £60 – this would have been free if I’d been able to hold onto first place during the BIKC Locals! Entry into the local finals cost £40.

The total comes to £1,532.64, plus my #Grid Elite membership cost of £34.99. A total of £1,567.63. My £35 TeamSport membership saved me £507.93 this year!

I was monetised late into the year, on the 30th September. My total income from being a “YouTuber” was, £308.24. This is a combination of ad revenue, revenue from viewers with YouTube Premium and revenue from Channel Members (I get 66p/month per member!).
